Musical based on “La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini has been quite stirring since its premiere. It was created in 1994 as part of the New York Theatre Workshop with the participation of amateurs — young talented New Yorkers. The official first appearance took place two years later on Broadway in Nederlander Theatre.
A story about modern city bohemia tells about all their problems: homelessness, looking for the sense of life, hunger for love, lonely struggle with one’s own weakness, with drugs and HIV. Relationships with the main characters, their closeness and remoteness, acceptance and rejection make the show a very intimate, even cosy, atmosphere. At the same time, it emanates with optimism and the praise of life.
